Classic 'Metal Gear,' 'Castlevania,' 'Contra' games available now on PC
Retro gamers rejoice!
Japanese video game developer and publisher Konami has stealthily released many of its classic games to the PC via digital distribution platform GOG.com.
Konami announced the re-release of some of its classic games during the virtual 2020 Tokyo Game Show. Likewise, a release from GOG.com promises all of the games have been updated for modern PC hardware.
Stealth genre forerunner Metal Gear (1987), Metal Gear Solid (2000), and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (2003) are available through GOG. The first game costs $5.99 (P290) while the second and third installments cost $9.99 (P484) each.
Joining the three Metal Gears will be the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania and Contra, which bundles five games: Castlevania, Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest, Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, plus Contra and its sequel, Super C. All of the franchises’ 8-bit games come in an affordable bundle that will set you back $5.99 (P290).
For now, these re-releases have only been made available for the PC through GOG.
