Jimmy Kimmel and John Mulaney have decided to pass on the opportunity to host the 2025 Academy Awards.

Entertainment outlet Variety confirmed that the two comedians have turned down the gig.

Jimmy has hosted the Oscars four times previously in 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024. The late night host reportedly declined the emcee role earlier in the summer, according to PEOPLE.

On the other hand, John became one of the favorites among awards fans to host Hollywood's biggest night after he served as a presenter at the 96th edition of the Oscars and a host of the Governors Awards in January.

When the Big Mouth star was asked by The Hollywood Reporter in 2023 if he wanted to host the Oscars, he said, "Sure, why not? It would be really fun. It's hosting the Academy Awards. Johnny Carson did that."

However, Puck News reported that he has a busy schedule coming up with several projects in the works.

Jimmy is one of the small pool of celebrities who have hosted the annual awards several times. Bob Hope hosted most times at 19, followed by Billy Crystal at nine times, and Johnny Carson at five times. Whoopi Goldberg, Jack Lemmon, and Jimmy have hosted the show four times.

The 97th Academy Awards will be held in March 2025.
