Learn how to build a sex room with Netflix's new reality show
Whether you were just bored during the pandemic or have always been interested in the art of home design, you've most likely watched your fair share of reality shows featuring expert designers doing home makeovers on everything from dusty attics to nasty basements.
But have you ever watched a design show that teaches you how to build a sex room?
Yup.
Netflix just premiered on July 8 a new reality show called, you guessed it, How To Build A Sex Room, which has luxury interior designer Melanie Rose helping her clients create stylish spaces for lovers to live out their wildest fantasies about the birds and the bees.
The way it works is that Rose learns about her clients' kinks and interests before proceeding to work her magic on the sex room (which may perhaps leave even Christian Grey jealous).
Here are some of the stylish and luxurious rooms teased in the show's trailer, released on June 23:
Rose has an extensive career as an interior designer, having over 20 years of experience. In the trailer, she shared what made her take on the rather scandalous job of designing sex rooms.
"For over 15 years, I've been designing high-end homes. So when a client asked me if I'd ever designed a sex room, I thought, 'why not?' Why wouldn't I go and design a sex room?" Rose said.
The 57-year-old designer underscored that while these types of rooms are judged as "dirty" by many, they can also be beautiful with the right touch, and in this case, it's hers.
"When people hear the words 'sex room', they concentrate on the words 'sex', and that connotates dirty [and] disgusting, but when I design them, they can be beautiful. And they are places where couples can explore their deepest fantasies," Rose said.
On Twitter, netizens have already been raving about the show.
Television actor Jennifer Kretchmer praised that it was one of the most brilliant shows she had seen.

Another user wrote that she would highly recommend How To Build A Sex Room as it has a positive message on sex.
"I just finished watching 'How to Build a Sex Room' on Netflix and it is probably one of the most sex positive shows I've seen. The soundtrack is completely awesome and every song they play use is a bop. Also, the designer, Melanie Rose is lovely and so accepting," she posted.
"This 8 episode 'design series' actually does an amazing job of showing that kink comes in all shapes, sizes and flavours. I highly reccommend it," she added.

With eight episodes so far, viewers can expect to see lots of erotic decorations, provocative furniture, and conversations that are often left inside the bedroom. Just maybe wait until your kids are tucked in their beds before binge-watching this.
