Karen Ibasco, who won Miss Earth in 2017, made the rounds on Twitter when she voluntarily expounded on the remaining word at the Top 8 interview round of this year’s prestigious tilt.

“I’m gonna give a little twist because there’s one more word that was left in this bowl and I’m gonna answer it for you,” the host of the pageant portion said as the word “INTELLECT” flashed on the screen. “If that was my hashtag during my Miss Earth, I’m going to answer it this way.”

“I believe that the winner of Miss Earth should always have intellect because in that way, that substance part is going to help her speak her mind. This organization is all about knowing how to be a public figure who can represent the organization to speak for the environment because here, as we live in this generation, it’s not just understanding to do it for yourself but representing the outspoken or rather the person who cannot speak and that is Mother Earth and I’m going to do it for her. A person who can speak her mind is the best person who can represent Miss Earth.”

Netizens were quick to react to her brilliant thought, saying that she could have won the highly coveted crown if she joined the latest edition of Miss Earth.

“Winner talaga. Walang kakaba-kaba,” a social media user wrote on Twitter.

A Twitter user jokingly reminded Ibasco that she was a host and not a candidate of this year’s competition.

“Sige Ms. Karen Ibasco, ilavan mo ulit!” another one tweeted.

An Internet user referred to Ibasco as her all-time favorite Miss Earth titleholder.

The Miss Earth 2021 pageant was held on Nov. 21. Destiny Wagner of Belize bagged the title, followed by Marisa Butler of the USA (Miss Earth-Air), Romina Denecken of Chile (Miss Earth-Water), and Baitong Jareerat Petsom of Thailand (Miss Earth-Fire).
