Xian Lim, Jessy Mendiola appear on GMA-7; will Sarah Geronimo make an appearance too?
Is this a sign of things to come?
Xian Lim was seen on GMA-7 on Wednesday, July 7 as a guest on a TV special by an online shopping service that aired on the network.
The actor sang a cover of Eraserhead’s Pare Ko while playing the piano.
Prior to his TV appearance, Xian also posted a video on Instagram that eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed was shot at a dressing room inside the studio of GMA-7.
The appearance, which Willie Revillame earlier announced on his afternoon show Wowowin, is like that of actor John Lloyd Cruz’s. John Lloyd made his first TV appearance after a years-long showbiz hiatus last month via a TV special that aired on GMA-7 as well.
Jessy Mendiola also made an appearance on the July 7 TV special with Xian.
“GMA, maraming maraming salamat. Wil, mula bata pa lang ako, e, tagahanga na ako,” Xian said. "Sa lahat ng Kapuso na nanonood ngayon, maraming maraming salamat!"
GMA-7 has yet to make an announcement on Xian’s supposed transfer to the network, but it was reported last month that he is set to make a soap opera with Jennylyn Mercado.
If he does make the shift to GMA-7, Xian joins many ABS-CBN stars to shift network alliances in the past months. Bea Alonzo, Beauty Gonzalez, and Pokwang have already officially moved to the Kapuso Network, after weeks of speculation. John Lloyd Cruz is reportedly set to make a sitcom for the network with Revillame. The likes of Khalil Ramos and Richard Yap made the move last year.
Janine Gutierrez and Sunshine Dizon moved to ABS-CBN this year, ending their years-long stay with GMA-7.
Meanwhile, singer Sarah Geronimo, an artist connected with ABS-CBN, is also under fan scrutiny after GMA-7 announced that her online concert “Tala: The Film Concert” will air on GMA Pinoy TV, the network’s international pay TV channel.

While this is not an indication that Sarah, a frequent subject of network transfer rumors, will make the move to GMA-7, fans can’t help but wonder if this is a sign of an impending network transfer.
Sarah was rumored to be making a move to TV5 earlier this year. Viva Entertainment, which manages Sarah, produces shows for TV5, hence the rumors. But Vic del Rosario Jr., the head of Viva Entertainment, said that Sarah remains an exclusive ABS-CBN talent.
"She is still exclusive with ABS-CBN and the only time she appears on TV5 is when she comes out on ASAP Natin 'To," Del Rosario said.
