Ricky Lee's 'Para Kay B' English version is now available for pre-order

Did you get lost in the timeless love stories in Ricky Lee’s Para Kay B? You can revisit them in its English version soon.

The Ateneo University Press announced on Wednesday, April 27 that an English version of Para Kay B, one of the National Artist's best-selling works, is now available for pre-order. 

For B (or How Love Devastates Four Out of Every Five of Us) was translated by Filipino-American fiction writer Noelle Q. De Jesus. Those who want to grab a copy at a 15% discount may fill out the pre-order form here, which will be open until May 5. Buyers can expect an email from the Ateneo University Press when it’s ready for shipping or pick-up.

The official release of the book's English version is slated for May 15.

The 2008 novel Para Kay B tells five different stories about love. Lee released its sequel, dubbed Lahat Ng B, in January this year.

It was also adapted for a stage play by Palanca Award-winning writer Eljay Castro Deldoc and Tabsing Kolektib in 2017. 

Aside from his debut novel, Lee is also known for his literary works Bahay Ni Marta, Trip to Quiapo: Scriptwriting Manual, Si Amapola sa 65 na Kabanata, and more. He also served as the screenwriter of classic Filipino films like Himala, Moral, and Anak.

Lee was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022.
