Buzzfeed Unsolved is coming out with a Philippine 'Dark Horrors' series
The Buzzfeed Unsolved Network is slated to release a new series focusing on the true-crime and supernatural cases set in the Philippines.
The mini-series created by Aria Inthavong of the Buzzfeed Unsolved team will be comprised of three short documentaries focusing on terrifying real-life events that occurred in the country, while also taking a step back to look at the larger issues that caused them.
In the short teaser titled 'The Dark Horrors Of The Philippines,' scenes from the Manila Film Center, U.S. colonialization period, the Jabidah Massacre of 1968, and the Ferdinand Marcos regime can be seen along with sound bites explaining their impact.
The first episode will air on April 30 Aria's personal YouTube channel.
The 'Dark Horrors of the Philippines' series will serve as Aria's introduction to a large-scale project titled "SOLIVAGANT" which will feature other countries and deal with the intersection of true crime and culture. It can be exclusively watched on the Buzzfeed Unsolved channel.
Buzzfeed Unsolved was popularized by the tandem of Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej. After releasing the final seasons of their show, the pair established their own true-crime network called Watcher.
