‘Hunter’s Arena: Legends’ leads PlayStation Plus free games for August

Published Aug 05, 2021 12:45 pm

It’s a brand new month, which means more free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

August’s PlayStation Plus lineup challenges players to test their skills against dangerous demons, the undead and aggressive fauna, and racket-wielding pros.

PS Plus users can enjoy the fantasy warfare in a 30-player battle royale in Hunter’s Arena: Legends, enjoy coop and competitive gameplay in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and hit the court like true champs in Tennis World Tour 2 starting Tuesday (August 3) when the titles join PlayStation Plus.

Here’s a quick look at the games.

Hunter’s Arena: Legends (PS4, PS5)

Hunter’s Arena is coming to PlayStation Plus for both PS4 and PS5 this month. The 30 player PvP and PvE combat-based battle royale is set in a dangerous and mystical ancient world in which humanity battles each other as well as a growing legion of demons that have been unleashed upon the world.

Hunter’s Arena takes players to a beautifully crafted ancient East Asian world where you play as a Hunter who must fight deadly demons as well as each other to survive in the one-of-a-kind melee battle royale.

The ultimate goal in Hunter’s Arena is to fight your way through 30 other players and prove yourself as the deadliest Hunter in the Hunter's Arena.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville (PS4)

EA’s off-the-wall team shooter returns in Plants vs. Zombie: Battle for Neighborville. Ready your peashooters for the third spin-off installment in the hit Plants vs. Zombies franchise as the tension expands beyond Neighborville into new social and free-roam regions on the outer reaches of the township.

In this third-person shooter, players take control of either the Plants or the Zombies in either a cooperative or competitive multiplayer environment. The game features 23 customizable gameplay classes and lets players compete against each other in various competitive multiplayer modes, including the objective-based Turf Takeover mode and the team deathmatch  variant Team Vanquish.

The game also features player-versus-environment open zones which allow players to explore, find collectibles, and complete quests.

Tennis World Tour 2 (PS4)

Still on a high from Olympics season? Play as the world’s top players or create your own pro and try to dominate the world rankings in Tennis World Tour 2.

Master each surface, perfect your game and strive to dominate the world circuit. Players can choose from multiple game modes, with singles and doubles games, local and online.

In Career mode, you can manage your season, your staff, your equipment and your sponsors. The game offers dynamic, realistic and precise gameplay that puts you in the heart of legendary rallies.

All three games will be available for PlayStation Plus members to add to their library until Monday, September 6, 2021.
