How you can help Angelica Lopez secure a spot in Miss International 2024
Calling all Pinoy pageant fans! Angelica Lopez, the country's Miss International 2024 bet, needs our help to win the seventh crown for the Philippines.
Over the weekend, the pageant organizers announced on their social media accounts that delegates with the highest votes for each regional cluster (Asia and Oceania, Africa and Europe, North/South America, and the Caribbean) will automatically enter the Top 20.
Voting will temporarily stop on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. (PH Time) and resume until the pageant announces the Top 8 delegates.
"If your delegate made it to the Top 8 but she has the least vote, she will receive zero points. However, if she made it to the Top 8 and she is No. 1 in the votes, that's an automatic 1st place for her with 50 points. 2nd Place gets 30, 3rd place gets 20, 4th Place gets 10 and 5th place gets 5. Her rank in the final votes (regardless of regional cluster) will be considered as our 11th judge in the finals," the Miss International explained.
How to vote?
To help Lopez advance to the semi-final round of the competition, just download the Miss International app from the Apple Store or Google Play. Go to the "delegates" tab and click the Philippines. Afterward, tap the "Vote here" and click Lopez's photo to cast your vote.
The voting prices range from P64 (one vote) up to P6,300 (250 votes).
During her send-off last Oct. 24, the Palawan-based stunner expressed her desire to use her platform to uplift and educate the less fortunate children. She wants to be the "bridge" for underprivileged children, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve potential.
"I grew up without having a silver spoon in my mouth, and I know what it feels like. I want to be the bridge for these children to be able to live a good life [and] to be able to live a life with security and safety," she said.
The Bb. Pilipinas-International 2023 added, "That's what I want to create in Miss International—to build partnerships in organization internationally, and I am so excited to share my advocacy with a lot of people to join me on my mission."
When asked if she's ready to bag the coveted title, she said, "I'm ready, and I know I would be here if I am not ready to represent the Philippines on the international stage. That's [what] I wanna show to all the Filipino people that our effort and hard work will be going there."
"When I become Ms. International, I want them to know that I am a woman of so much purpose, so much love, kindness, and compassion in my heart, and more than ready to change the world," she added.
Miss International 2024's coronation night is scheduled for Nov. 12 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan, where Andrea Rubio of Venezuela will crown her successor.
Lopez is aiming to win the seventh crown for the Philippines, following the wins of Gemma Cruz-Araneta (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979), Lara Quigaman (2005), Bea Santiago (2013), and Kylie Verzosa (2016).
