There's something about the Disney offering that makes it magical, and you can catch a local show on it soon dubbed Frozen in Concert, where a live orchestra and acclaimed theater actors perform in sync with the beloved Disney animated musical fantasy.

Taking inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen's 1844 fairy tale The Snow Queen, Frozen follows Princess Anna, who sets off on a journey with the iceman Kristoff, the reindeer Sven, and the snowman Olaf to find her estranged sister Elsa, who accidentally trapped their kingdom in eternal winter with her icy powers.

The franchise's magic goes on after 2013

When Frozen was released in 2013, its song entries, especially Let It Go, took the world by storm, forever becoming woven into pop culture.

As Frozen 2 was released in 2019 and as Frozen 3 is in the works, it's apparent that the franchise's magic goes on to this day, reinforced by the likes of Frozen in Concert.

It's a fun affair for your loved ones—the little ones at home can even dress as their favorite Frozen characters to boot.

With Frozen in Concert taking place on a weekend, booking a car to get there might lessen the hassle of getting a ride.

Filharmonika Orchestra performs while the movie screens

The Filharmonika Orchestra will perform live as the Frozen movie is on the big screen.

Led by conductor Mhaze Lim, the performance will bring the movie soundtrack to life like never before.

Acclaimed Filipino theater actors

Frozen's hit songs will be appreciated in a different way as acclaimed Filipino theater actors give their renditions.

The singing of Gab Pangilinan as Elsa, Joreen Bautista as Anna, Reb Atadero as Hans, and Laurence Mossman as Olaf will add a powerful, immersive layer to the concert.

Pangilinan starred in the musicals Ang Huling El BimboThe Last Five Years, and the recently concluded Mula sa Buwan. In 2021, she won Best Leading Female Performance in the Digital Category at the 27th Asian Television Awards for Still (Viu Originals) and has been nominated twice for the Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards for her roles in The Last Five Years (2023) and Mula Sa Buwan (2022).

Bautista last played the alternate Kim in Miss Saigon. She's also known for her Disney song covers on TikTok.

Atadero appeared in musicals like Little Shop of HorrorsRent, and Tick, Tick... Boom!, earning him the PHILSTAGE Gawad Buhay Award for Outstanding Male Featured Actor in a Musical. He also posts educational content on YouTube, Spotify, and TikTok.

Mossman made his theater debut in 2016 with Fun Home alongside Lea Salonga and gained further recognition as Charlie Price in Kinky Boots. He currently stars as Thuy in the 2023-2024 Australian and Asian tour of Miss Saigon.

Organized by Film Concerts PH, Frozen in Concert takes place on Nov. 16, at 5 p.m., and Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati. Ticket prices are as follows: Elsa  – P5,999; Anna – P4,999; Kristoff – P4,499; Olaf – P3,999; Sven – P2,999; and Bulda – P1,999.
