Instead of pink or blue confetti, this couple holds a 'low budget' gender reveal with colored toilet flush
Ah, gender reveal parties. Around the world, some of these celebrations have gone awry despite being extravagant, causing forest fires and contaminating waterfalls. One couple in the Philippines held a unique and somewhat hilarious party, with the color of the water in their toilet determining whether they were having a boy or a girl.
On New Year's Day, dad-to-be Banong Delos Angeles shared a video of his "low budget" gender reveal on Facebook. Instead of the traditional colored smoke or confetti in a balloon, he dyed the water in his toilet to share the news.
With their gender reveal done through their toilet, the bathroom was decorated with streamers, lights, and balloons. Above the flush was a sign that read "Press to reveal."
"Kapag pinindot ko to at ang lumabas blue, team boy 'yan! Pero 'pag lumabas ay kulay pink, team girl!" Delos Angeles said in the clip.
The members of the family gathered around the commode with their smartphones ready to capture the scene. As he pressed the flush, a stream of blue water came out, signaling they were having a male baby.
"Ang pangalan niya ay magiging Urbano Delos Angeles VI," the dad-to-be said in the video. "Sixto! Tuwang-tuwa yung isang lola niya!"
Netizens were amused with the unique gender reveal. One user on Twitter wrote, "medyo cost effective muna."
"Kumusta yung kanina pa naiihi di maka-cr," another said on TikTok.
