‘Warframe’ to have cross-save and cross-play in the future
In the recently concluded TennoCon 2021, Digital Extremes revealed that their MMORPG will now support cross-play and cross-save for old and new generation platforms “later this year.”
This new feature will come after the New War expansion drops, which is their biggest and most ambitious update of the game yet.
The studio also revealed during the event that a mobile port of their free-to-play game is also underway.
Warframe puts players in the shoes of the Tenno, a race of ancient warriors who have awoken from a century-long cryosleep and utilize mechanized suits called warframes for their special and unique abilities.
“Community is incredibly important to us,” said Sheldon Carter, chief operating officer at Digital Extremes. “Opening up cross-play and cross-save is just one of many more efforts we’ll take on to bring more players together including extending Warframe’s fast, fluid, action combat experience to other global gaming platforms.”
And this statement can be backed up with how they have interacted with their player base through the years, constantly applying hotfixes and game mechanic overhauls since launch, especially regarding microtransactions.
Warframe is currently available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
