Final Fantasy VII Remake voice actress cosplays as Aerith and we're loving it

Talk about a dead ringer (no spoiler intended). The English actress who voices the lead character Aerith Gainsborough in the Final Fantasy VII Remake video game looks absolutely stunning in full character cosplay.

Actress and digital content creator Briana White, who voices Aerith in the 2020 remake of the role playing game classic Final Fantasy VII, posted a series of photos of her “first cosplay shoot ever” as the flower girl that Cloud Strife encounters in Midgar, who becomes the team’s primary healer and magic wielder.

White shared the first two photos on her Twitter account over the weekend showing her donning her character's signature red cropped jacket and pink dress with long brown hair tied in a pink bow. In another photo, she carries a bouquet of yellow flowers.

"Beyond excited to share these first 2 photos of my Aerith cosplay. How lucky am I to voice her?" she posted on Twitter.

She expressed her respect for professional cosplayers when she shared a third photo on her Instagram account, saying: "It was a lot of work & I had a lot of help. Still, I was so nervous the whole time! I have so much more respect for cosplayers after doing one myself. But how rewarding is it to see a shot like this? This must be what it's all for."

White credited her photographer Martin Wong for the photo shoot, Final Fantasy cosplay specialist Lady Zero for the dress and ribbon, and @helloiamkate for the make-up work and styling on both social media platforms.

White runs a YouTube channel named Strange Rebel Gaming where she streams video games based on requests, and gives reviews and reactions to gaming news. Here’s a video vlog of her geeking out to the fact that she was picked as Aerith’s voice actress last year.

And here's the completely wholesome moment when White hears her voice through Aerith, in-game, for the very first time:

While it’s White’s first time to cosplay the character, the result manages to capture Aerith's innocent, carefree, and joyful appearance that matches her upbeat voice. Fans can expect more photos to come, according to the White’s social media posts. It would be really cool to see video snippets of her voicing Aerith while in costume.
