Attention, aspiring singers: You have the chance to sing the Philippine rendition of Defying Gravity from the film, Wicked, and take part in its accompanying music video.

Universal Pictures Philippines, the official distributor of the film in the country, is holding an “Awiting Wicked” contest to look for Filipino amateur singers who can be part of the Philippine rendition of the movie's official soundtrack.

To join, simply upload a video on TikTok containing some scenes from the film, and duet it with a video of yourself singing to the instrumental version of Defying Gravity from Sept. 18 to Sept. 29. Aside from making sure to use the hashtag #AwitingWicked in the caption, you also have to make it a point that your profile is set to public to make your entry visible.

The search is open to Filipinos aged 18 and above and are currently residing in the Philippines. A total of 30 winners will announced for the project, which will be launched on Nov. 20—the movie's official premiere date in Philippine cinemas.

The movie adaptation of the famous stage musical of the same name—helmed by Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz—will tell the untold story of the witches of Oz.

It centers on Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a young woman with an unusual green skin who has yet to discover her true power, and Glinda (Ariana Grande), a popular young female gilded by privilege and ambition who has yet to discover her true heart.

After meeting as students in the fantastical Land of Oz, they unexpectedly form a close bond. However, their friendship gets tested after an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz himself, and their lives take very different paths.

Other cast members include Michelle Yeoh as Shiz University’s regal headmistress Madame Morrible, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, a roguish and carefree prince, Ethan Slater as Boq, an altruistic Munchkin student, and Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz.

It is directed by Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu, and produced by Marc Platt and David Stone.

Wicked: Part One opens in cinemas on Nov. 20, while its second part is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2025.
