Cinemalaya releases list of full-length films for 2023
Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival is just a few weeks away and Pinoy cinephiles have more reasons to look forward to this year's film screenings than before.
This year's festival, which will run from Aug. 4 to 13, is taking place in the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) as its annual venue, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), undergoes renovations.
In the announcement released on social media on June 3, Cinemalaya stated that other venues including the CCP Black Box Theater and selected cinemas at various malls will be hosting film screenings.
Highlighting the talent and creativity of Filipino filmmakers, Cinemalaya 2023 will showcase ten Filipino-made full-length films competing in various categories, such as narrative, animation, and documentary. The list is as follows:
- Ang Duyan ng Magiting by Dustin Celestino
- As If It's True by John Rogers
- Bulawan Nga Usa (Golden Deer) by Kenneth De La Cruz
- Gitling by Jopy Arnaldo
- Huling Palabas by Ryan Machado
- Iti Mapupukaw (The Missing) by Carl Joseph Papa
- Maria by Sheryl Rose Andes
- Rookie by Samantha Lee
- Tether by Gian Arre
- When This is All Over by Kevin Mikhail Mayuga
Apart from its ten full-length films, Cinemalaya fans can look forward to the screening of these ten short film entries previously unveiled by the foundation last June 6:

Other details about the festival, including ticket prices and selling dates, are yet to be announced by Cinemalaya.
