Walt Disney Animation Studios releases the first teaser trailer of its newest magical and musical fantasy animated feature, Encanto.

Encanto tells the tale of the extraordinary Madrigal family, who lives in a magical house situated in the hidden mountains of Columbia, in the vibrant town of Encanto. In the trailer, members of the family are seen showcasing their unique gift—like super strength or the ability to shape shift—except for one, the 15-year-old Mirabel, (Stephanie Beatriz of Brooklyn Nine-Nine), who will be taking matters into her own hands for her home.

As the synopsis read, “When she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.”

Lead star Beatriz expressed her excitement in a tweet, “I’m Colombian on my father’s side, and playing the role of Mirabel fills me with immense pride. Can’t wait for you to see the movie in Nov!”

The music will match the colorful visuals with Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana) bringing original songs for the feature.

“Can't wait for you to hear the new Disney songs I've been writing the past four years, in service of this incredible story,” he said.

In the trailer, the Colombia, Mi Encanto track is by Colombian musical artist Carlos Vives.

Together with Beatriz, the voice cast includes María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan.

Encanto is slated for a November 24 theatrical release, directed by Byron Howard (Tangled, Zootopia), Jared Bush (Moana), Charise Castro Smith (The Haunting of Hill House series). Clark Spencer (Ralph Breaks the Internet) and Yvett Merino (Moana) are also on board as producers.
