LOOK: 'Detective Conan' movie features the Philippines' Makati City
The latest movie adaptation of the hit anime series Detective Conan just featured the Philippines.
In Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, the skyscrapers and skyline of Makati take center stage.
The five-star hotel The Peninsula Manila and the popular fountain on its facade can also be seen, along with the street signs of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue.
Facebook page “Detective Conan PH: Anime and Manga,” a local fan organization of the anime series, shared some stills from the movie in a Facebook post.
According to the page, the character Vermouth flew to the country and stayed in the hotel.
She can also be seen accompanied by what seems to be an aspin, the ubiquitous mixed-breed local dog.
Detective Conan follows Shinichi Kudo, a prodigy detective who is inadvertently shrunk into a child’s body after being force-fed poison by a crime syndicate. Assuming the identity 'Conan' to prevent his enemies from killing him and his loved ones, Shinichi uses his detective skills to solve mysteries while also finding out about those behind his condition.
