TRENDING: Brands, social media users give funny takes on PCSO's viral lotto winner photo
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office drew laughs and became the subject of memes after posting an edited photo of a lotto winner on social media.
The agency announced that a 47-year-old housewife from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan has won the P43 million jackpot on Dec. 28 with an accompanying picture of a PCSO official handing in the check to her. Social media users were quick to share it on their pages and point out that it was clearly—and poorly—edited.
On Thursday, Jan. 18, the PCSO admitted that the photo was indeed edited to “protect the privacy of the winner.”
Since it became a hot topic online, Internet users and brands have been coming up with hilarious memes out of it. Here are some of the funniest and wittiest entries that PhilSTAR L!fe has come across online.
Honor Philippines promoted its latest unit, X9b 5G, by posing like the individuals in the viral photo—from the poorly edited woman on the receiving end to the poker face of its representive handing over the phone.
The post has garnered over 28,000 "haha" reactions as of writing.
On Facebook, content creator Macoy Dubs shared a photo of him in a yellow wig, which he matched with a blazer and his signature pout.
“SATIRE: Just bought Puro Charot Sweepstakes Office for 4 billion pesos," he wrote in the caption.
Zark’s Philippines, meanwhile, launched a new promo that lets its customers get some nachos and a drink for free when they order the Dawgs meal set. All they have to do is present the restaurant's own PCSO meme when making an order. The promo is valid until Jan. 31 for dine-in and take-out orders. Note that it's limited in their NCR and Provincial Luzon branches.
Angel’s Burger also drew laughs with its photo showing a staff giving a customer their order.
“Naka-jackpot daw ang ferson?? Feeling winner ka talaga everyday sa abot-kayang sandwiches ng #AngelsBurger!” they wrote in their viral post.
Tonik Bank also shared their own take on the viral photo, but instead of the P43 million jackpot, the borrower received a P5 million loan from the bank as a joke.
An X user trended online for using the same template and combining it with Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam painting.
