Ben Affleck reveals feeling 'trapped' with Jennifer Garner, and Jennifer Lopez reportedly isn't happy with his comments

Ben Affleck has spoken about his alcoholism and marriage with Jennifer Garner — but some people aren't fans of his choice of words.

During a radio interview on the Howard Stern Show, Affleck revealed that he felt "trapped" with Garner, who he married in 2005 and shared three children with.

"I'd probably still be drinking. It's part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped," he said. "I was like 'I can't leave 'cause of my kids, but I'm not happy. What do I do?' What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution."

Affleck had gone on rehab several times over the years starting in 2011. The Bennifer couple parted ways in 2015.

The Last Duel actor added that he and Garner did everything they could to keep their marriage together, it just didn't work out. "The truth was, we took our time, we made the decision ... We grew apart."

"We had a marriage that didn't work, this happens, with somebody that I love and respect, but to whom I shouldn't be married any longer. Ultimately, we tried. We tried, we tried because we had kids."

"Both of us felt like we don't want this to be the model that our kids see of marriage."

While Affleck saw the interview as his opportunity to get candid, his way of speaking about their marital issues have since rubbed people the wrong way, allegedly including his own present girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez

“[Lopez] is pissed. She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this, a source told Page Six.
