WATCH: Netflix drops trailer for 'To All The Boys' spinoff 'XO, Kitty'
After being her sister's matchmaker, Kitty is set to embark on her own romantic journey.
On Thursday, March 23, Netflix dropped the first look trailer of Xo, Kitty, a ten-episode spin-off of the hit series To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before starring Lana Candor and Noah Centineo.
In the trailer, Kitty—all grown up—convinces her dad Dan for her to live and pursue studies in South Korea.
Anchoring on her belief in destiny, Kitty started off her pitch by highlighting the love story of Lara Jean (Lana) and Peter (Noah) and the love story of her dad, Dr. Covey, and stepmother Trina, “I know when two people are meant for each other.”
Delving further, Kitty went on to narrate that it is fate that she has been selected to receive scholarship from the same school where her mom used to go. Interestingly, it is also where her crush Dae is currently studying.
Anna Cathcart reprises her role as Kitty Covey, while Korean actor Minyeong Choi will play Dae.
Although Kitty has been present in the trilogy, its writer said you don’t need to watch it all to understand the spin-off series.
“XO, Kitty is definitely its own thing. You could enter into this story just starting with XO, Kitty, and be on Kitty’s journey as if you’re meeting her for the first time,” said Jenny Han, writer, and co-showrunner of the series.
“She’s the big fish in a small pond, [and] she thinks she knows it all in Portland. Then she has a rude awakening when she’s put in a new place like Seoul.”
Xo, Kitty will start streaming on May 18. Watch the trailer below:
