The first trailer for Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho has finally dropped with a confirmation for a release in October this year.

The psychological horror film stars Jojo Rabbit’s Thomasin MacKenzie alongside The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy.

The film follows Eloise (MacKenzie), an aspiring young fashion designer who is mysteriously transported back in time to London in the 1960s, but only when she dreams.

When she’s asleep she transforms into Sandy (Taylor-Joy), a dazzling lounge singer living in the neon-lit vibrant nightlife of London's Swinging Sixties.

But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences as seen in the trailer. Sandy also seems to be creeping slowly into Eloise’s daily life in the modern world.

Along with the teaser trailer, the film also released the official poster featuring the film's two lead stars teasing a "journey back in time."

Last Night in Soho marks Wright’s first narrative film since Baby Driver was released in 2017, though he is also set to release a documentary called The Sparks Brothers this summer.

As previously reported by IndieWire, Wright cited British horror films, such as Nicolas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion, among his influences for the film, which adds a time travel twist.

Last Night in Soho, which wrapped filming in August 2019, was was originally supposed to come out in 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Soho” supporting cast also includes Matt Smith, Diana Rigg, Rita Tushingham, and Terence Stamp.

Last Night in Soho will mark the final film appearances for Game of Thrones' Diana Rigg and former glamour model and Goldfinger star Margaret Nolan, who died in September and October 2020, respectively.

The haunting, dreamlike teaser trailer also features the song Downtown, sung by Taylor-Joy. Check it out below.

Last Night in Soho is set to be released in theaters on October 22, 2021.
