PlayStation Wrap-Up reveals your gaming stats for 2020
Curious about just how much time you spent with a PlayStation controller in your hands while quarantined at home last year?
The year of the global pandemic was a big one for the gaming industry. As people were forced to go on home lockdowns and avoid social interactions, it's no surprise that many turned to digital entertainment that boosted the use of gaming consoles—includng Sony's PlayStation—empowering gaming in 2020.
Sony recently launched a feature that allows gamers to celebrate their gaming achievements in 2020 and share details with others. In its latest article on the PlayStation Blog, Manager for Content Communications Brett Elston writes how Sony and PlayStation aims to celebrate gaming in the past year through their year end wrap-up report.
The PlayStation Wrap-Up reveals all your gaming stats for 2020. For PS4 players, this includes trophies earned, which games you played the most, your average playtime for each day of the week and a breakdown of how many hours you spent in online and offline games.
According to Sony, the Wrap-Up focuses mostly on the PlayStation 4 because of the limited time for gamers to get their hands on the PlayStation 5, which was launched in November 2020.
However, for those who did manage to get their hands on a PlayStation 5, some less-detailed stats for that system will be available as well. PS5 players can get a headstart with the number of hours spent with their most-played game, how many PS5-specific trophies they unlocked and the total number of hours played.
Considering we're already into the second month of 2021, Sony comes in late to the game for a year-end report that pulls together users' personal activity from the previous year into tidy facts and figures. Nintendo's Year in Review, Spotify's Wrapped, and Year in TikTok all featured shareable 2020 highlights as a recap last December.
How to view your Personal PlayStation 2020 Wrap-Up Report
To view your stats, you'll need to have a PSN account, be 18 or older and have played at least 10 hours of games on PS4 during 2020. The personalized Wrap-Up report feature will be available starting this February until March 2, 2021, giving players a month to view their gameplay stats.
A copy of the stats is also sent by email with the message: "Looking back at your year of gaming, it’s clear that you put in the practice, challenged yourself and were a big success! Check out what you achieved in your stats and highlights for 2020."
How to fix the PlayStation 2020 Wrap-Up Error
As reported by Tech Times, several PlayStation users report that the PlayStation 2020 Wrap-Up page is broken, showing an error message of "Trouble loading this page" right on the landing page of the link from Sony. The "404 General Error Message" seems as if that the service is broken or is not yet up and running in a specific region or country.
For instance, the link "https://www.wrapup.playstation.com/en-ph/' leads to the 404 General Error Message.
Changing the region that was automatically detected by the website would fix the issue. Try using "en-sg" or "en-hk" for other Asian regions, upon entering the browser's address space. For those with US accounts, the link "https://www.wrapup.playstation.com/en-us/ loads properly.
If this does not work, go to your browser's settings and clear the cache. After that, try going to the Wrap-Up 2020 website and access the stats feature.
Global trends
The Wrap-Up report also shares some global trends and interesting stats achieved collectively by PlayStation users in 2020.
Last year, 834 million enemies "collapsed in fear" in Ghost of Tsushima while a total of 200 million hours were played worldwide in The Last of Us Part II.
The Top 3 games on PlayStation Now in 2020 included Marvel's Spider-Man, Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn.
To celebrate the arrival of Wrap-Up, Sony has also released a free dynamic theme for PS4.
