WATCH: 'Star Wars: The Bad Batch' season 2 trailer teases a Jedi Wookie
Disney+ has dropped the first trailer for the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and it's filled with good ol' galactic action featuring fans' favorite ragtag group of Clone Troopers and a Wookie wielding a lightsaber.
The new season picks up months after the events on Kamino and the Bad Batch now have a new mission—to fight back against the Empire after the Republic fell.
With Emperor Palpatine now ruling the galaxy, the genetically-enhanced Clone Force 99 (all voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) and their young ward Omega (Michelle Ang) take on thrilling mercenary missions that will bring them to unexpected and dangerous new places.
One of the biggest reveals of the trailer, however, is a Wookie with Jedi powers! Some are saying that this Wookie is possibly Gungi, who first appeared as a padawan in The Clone Wars.
The Bad Batch takes place after the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Season 2 of this animated series is coming to Disney+ on Jan. 4, 2023 with the first two episodes available to stream.
