Carlos Yulo may have finished this year's Olympic gymnastics vault finals with his second gold, but Filipinos have just begun competing for the most hilarious reaction to their kababayan's monumental wins.

Yulo started rewriting Philippine sporting history when he clinched his first gold in the floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics last Saturday, Aug. 3. His routine consisted of high-flying tumbles and intricate spins that all together gave him a score of 15.000.

The Pinoy gymnast followed it up with his second gold from his flawless performance during the men's vault finals on Sunday, Aug. 4. He earned a score of 15.116 from the average of two vault routines. This made him the first Filipino athlete to win two gold medals in a single Olympics.

The Filipino online community, meanwhile, has also been showing the world what they're best at—supporting their country's Olympic champion in the funniest ways they can. From imitating the awarded gymnast's moves to joking about his whopping prizes. here are some of the most hilarious reactions to Yulos' wins that you'll find on the internet so far.

The staircase final

With his inspiring two Olympic wins, the 24-year-old athlete has definitely created what some may call the "Yulo effect." Just take a look at how comedic social media influencer Macoy Dubs tried to mimic the gymnast's performance where else? Their house's staircase.

Punas, punas, then dismount

Still don't believe that the Yulo effect exists? Well, here's Café Felisisima's staff trying to incorporate the Olympian's moves into their daily tasks. You'll see that there's no better way to end a chore than with a flawless dismount. How about a round of applause for the team, eh?

Yulo: 1, You: 0

When Yulo was announced as the champion of the 2024 Olympics' men's floor exercise, the 24-year-old athlete burst into tears of joy because of his feat. Some Pinoys, on the other hand, tried to relate his reaction to moments in their lives when they were wasted. We get it, fellas—there's Yulo who cries for winning and, well, there's you who cries for not thinking.

The collab we didn't know we needed

Before Yulo gave the Philippines its second and third Olympic gold medals, weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz made the country proud by bringing home its first gold from the women's 55-kg event at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Now, what better way to celebrate these athletes' historic achievements than pairing them up for a magazine cover? Here's TikToker @helloooo_lj giving us a glimpse of what it should look like. Try not to laugh!

Will work for P22 million, 3-bedroom condo, and more

Aside from being an Olympic gold medalist, Yulo is now a millionaire. The country's golden boy is set to receive a total of P22 million from the government, Megaworld, the House, and Bounty Fresh Group Holdings Inc. This, plus a three-bedroom condo unit from Megaworld; a lifetime supply of meals from JT's Manukan and Mang Inasal; and many more.

Who wouldn't like any of that, right? So, Tiktokers such as @mommyjuuu and social media influencer Nurse Even have started tumbling, jumping, and doing some splits in (dire) hope of becoming the country's next Olympic gold medalist. That's the spirit!

Endorsements here, there, and everywhere

We've seen it with Diaz and now, everyone is also expecting brands to get Yulo as their next endorser. Of course, who wouldn't want a two-time Olympic gold medalist to represent their brand? These companies might have to win Yulo over a tug of war, though. And TikToker @alpinedax is showing us what it would be like, using the iconic line, "Akin lang ang asawa ko," from ABS-CBN's 2014 drama series The Legal Wife.
