Microsoft Teams down for thousands of users in the Philippines, Australia, Singapore, and more

Microsoft Teams, the communication platform developed by Microsoft, is currently experiencing technical issues in various parts of the world including the Philippines.
Microsoft Corp said on Thursday morning, July 21, that it was investigating an outage where users were unable to access Microsoft Teams or leverage any features on the app.

Microsoft’s Teams app was down for almost 3,000 users, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
Users have noticed the technical issue worldwide, with the site teams.microsoft.com returning "operation failed with an unexpected error."
Aside from the Philippines, users in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, China, India and Taiwan have reported outages in their respective countries as well.
As of 11:00 am, Microsoft said that they had determined that a recent deployment contained a broken connection to an internal storage service, which caused the outtage.

Some users have also reported problems using Microsoft Word Online (Web) for Office 365, the online productivity suite of Microsoft. Office 365 contains online and offline versions of Microsoft Office, Skype and Onedrive, as well as online versions of Sharepoint, Exchange and Project.

According to Microsoft's 365's health status page, they are currently rerouting Microsoft Teams traffic to an alternate region to provide some relief and "potentially restore some functionality" to the service.
As of January 2022, Microsoft estimated that Teams had 270 million monthly users. Officials also said the company has up to 1.4 billion monthly active users of Windows 10 and 11 devices combined.
