How iconic!

Beyoncé's name will officially be added a French dictionary.

Citing public records, The Times of London reported that the Texas Hold ‘Em singer will be one of the 40 French and foreign personalities in the latest edition of encyclopedic dictionary Petit Larousse Illustré.

According to the media publication, the newest version will be listing Beyoncé's name as a proper noun with the entry “American singer of R&B and pop.” It will also put the spotlight on her Louisiana Creole heritage.

Aside from Beyoncé, actress Cate Blanchett, Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan, and legendary NBA player LeBron James will also be part of the update.

Carine Girac-Marinier, head of dictionaries and encyclopedias at Larousse, told French outlet Le Point that the new entries “reflect concerns, developments or strong movements this year.”

Arund 150 words will be added to the French dictionary's 2025 edition, per France 24. It was first released in 1905.
