Gird your loins! 'Devil Wears Prada' is getting a musical adaptation by Elton John
After over a decade since Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs made us laugh, reflect on life, and immediately overhaul our wardrobes, the duo is back to enchant us with the beauty and chaos of the fashion magazine industry. But this time, they're sashaying into a theater stage.
On Sept. 13, British singer-composer Elton John shared the news that Devil Wears Prada is getting its own musical adaptation, which is set to strut into London's Dominion Theatre in October 2024.
The musical is spearheaded by the music legend himself with direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Jerry Micthell.

Devil Wears Prada Musical is based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger and 2006 film by Twentieth Century Studios which earned $326 million in global sales.
The movie has instantly become a cult favorite for its interesting fashion choices, Meryl's Streep's savage portrayal of Miranda, and its eye-opening depiction of the the fashion magazine industry's dark side.
Prior to its official opening in London West End, the Devil Wears Prada Musical is having a limited season preview in Theatre Royal Plymouth in July 2024. The show's debut in the UK also follows its developmental run in Chicago from July 19 to August 21 of last year.
While the musical's producers have yet to announce details for ticket selling, they have already opened pre-launch sign-ups on the musical's website last Sept. 13.
Devil Wears Prada tells the story of aspiring journalist Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) who lands a job at the prestigious Runway magazine headed by its sophisticated yet merciless editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly.
Andy soon finds herself sacrificing her personal life for her boss and the job many girls would die for. She then has to decide whether to allow herself to be eaten alive by the industry she used to hate or save her soul for what truly matters in life.
