Netflix and chill? Popular streaming service reveals plan to release a new film every week

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to shut down cinemas in different parts of the world, Netflix decided to take our entertainment experience to a whole new level this year. 

In a press release, the popular streaming service revealed their plan to release a new film every week.

Apart from movies starring our favorite stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Sandra Bullock, Dwayne Johnson, Meryl Streep, Zendaya, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, Naomi Watts, and Jake Gyllenhaal, they’re also sharing masterpieces of renowned filmmakers such as Zack Snyder, Nora Fingscheidt, Joe Wright, Antoine Fuqua, Shawn Levy, Robert Pulcini, and Shari Springer Berman.

The directorial debuts from Halle Berry and Lin-Manuel Miranda will also be made available on the platform. 

“This year’s line-up will surprise and delight cinephiles across the globe,” their statement read. “We’re bringing you a year of films filled with more of the things we know our members love—zombies, cowboys, and high school romance. We’re re-introducing you to teen screams, turning your favorite books into films, bringing you more adrenaline-pumping blockbusters, and giving your family a reason to say YES to watching films together.”
