LOOK: The Umbrella Academy and Sparrow Academy face off in new character posters

The third season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy is coming in June, and the streamer is hyping up the series with new teasers and photos leading up to the launch.

After releasing a first teaser for the upcoming season a few weeks ago, Netflix has unveiled a new set of character posters showing the superhuman abilities of The Umbrella Academy and rival family, The Sparrow Academy.

On Monday (May 2), Netflix released posters for both groups, giving fans a better look at the new group of characters introduced in the closing moments of the show's second season.

Season 3 picks up right after the surviving members of the Umbrella Academy return to the present after putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday in Season 2.

Last March, Elliot Page, who played Vanya Hargreeves in the series first two seasons, revealed that Viktor was the new name of the character he was portraying in the latest season.

Viktor was relegated to No. 7 in the Umbrella Academy after Hargreeves used medication to suppress his incredible ability to convert sound into powerful blasts of energy. After almost destroying the world twice, he’s discovered his true self and his power. 

Convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed the timeline, The Umbrella Academy realizes things aren’t exactly how they left them, when they encounter members of the mysterious Sparrow Academy, including a new Ben (Justin H. Min), described as a “Machiavellian tactician” who is determined to gain his status as the leader at all costs.

The Umbrella Academy will return with season three  on June 22nd.
