ABS-CBN’s ‘MMK’ coming to an end after 31 years
ABS-CBN program Maalala Mo Kaya is coming to an end in December after running for over three decades.
ABS-CBN executive Charo Santos, who served as the host of Asia’s longest-running drama anthology, made the announcement on Monday, Nov. 21.
Santos expressed her gratitude to those who shared their life stories as well as the director, writers, researchers, production staff, actors, among others who successfully brought them to Philippine television for 31 years.
MMK first aired on ABS-CBN in 1991, “dramatizing real-life stories as shared by letter senders.” According to the network, “its success saw the title expand as a radio drama, a 1994 movie, and a comic book adaptation, among others, with its regular weekend run making a mark on pop culture.”
Before it officially bids goodbye to its Filipino viewers on Dec. 10, MMK will present an episode divided into three parts, which will air starting on Saturday, Nov. 26.
