Prepare to bend and snap again, Legally Blonde fans! You are about to see the ever-fabulous Elle Woods once again in a possible movie—or TV series!

According to a Deadline report on April 14, Legally Blonde is one of the projects that Amazon Studios is considering for a new film and/or TV series. This is in line with Amazon’s acquisition of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Studios which was finalized in March 2022.

More details about the entirety of its production have yet to be revealed. Other than Legally Blonde, popular films like Robocop, The Thomas Crown Affair, Barbershop, and more are also actively in talks for possible movie and TV treatments.

The Legally Blonde threequel was first announced to be released in May 2022 by MGM Studios, but there has been “on and off” talk about the production. It was reported to be officially in the works in 2018, with Reese Witherspoon to reprise her role as Elle Woods.

The iconic cast reunited virtually in 2020 for a cause during the early days of the pandemic, recalling the golden days of the film and how they didn’t realize that it was an icon-in-the-making, inspiring young women to strive for more like Elle Woods.

"We all worked together and made this movie together that has inspired so many young people. It's just such a gift. Every time people come up to me and tell me they love this movie, I give it all to you, I share it all with you all,” said Witherspoon during the reunion.

Legally Blonde follows the story of the ever-fabulous yet brilliant lawyer, Elle Woods. Initially, she only wanted to become Mrs. Warner Huntington III and want to win his ex-boyfriend back. She did all that it took to follow him at Harvard, smashing misogynistic stereotypes along the process.
