Apple will be dropping a foldable iPhone in 2023, analyst predicts
With foldable phones getting back into the spotlight once again, Apple is rumored to set its sights on introducing a foldable version of their classic iPhone.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted from an “industry study” that Apple is set to roll out the foldable variant by 2023, complete with an 8-inch flexible OLED display.
The rumored drop will reportedly showcase "foldable devices [that] will blur the product segmentations between smartphones, tablets, and laptops in the future.”
Apple has yet to respond to Kuo’s reports, though they already applied for a patent for a foldable smartphone in 2017.
Gathering intelligence from various sources along with his knowledge in the Asian tech industry, Kuo is dubbed "The Most Accurate Apple Analyst in the World." He’s previously accurately predicted the release of the iPhone SE and Apple Watch Series 2.
If true, Apple will join the likes of tech giants Samsung, Huwaei, and Motorola in bringing back the flip-phone trend.
