In partnership with the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), the Council of Deans and Heads of Architecture Schools in the Philippines (CODHASP), and HCG (Hocheng Philippines Corporation), this year’s theme is Lulinghayaw: A Localized Sustainable Eco-Tourism Destination.

Participating architectural students take on the challenge of envisioning a sustainable Filipino-inspired tourist destination as well as promoting Philippine architecture and Filipino culture.

A total of 151 qualified entries will be screened to determine the Magic Number Finalists, who will be up for the final screening on March 18. The tilt will be aired on its Facebook page

Winners will be announced during the celebration of the Construction Expo (CONEX) and the National Convention for Architects (NATCON).

The top ten entries will also be displayed at the ArchiNEXT Gallery to showcase the country’s promising architectural students and their exemplary works.

Scholarship and internship await all the winners.

Architecture in the time of the pandemic

As the pandemic hit the country, our general healthcare system was greatly affected. And so, ArchiNEXT theme last year was Lingap: General Hospital and Extended Emergency Facility.

Participants were tasked to envision a sustainable and relevant structure that would benefit the rural communities in the time of the pandemic.

Formosa: A Proposed Hospital and Extended Emergency Facility—designed by Yvonne Joy Salamero and Adrian Jerome Pajarillo of Bicol University—bagged the top prize. It bested 78 qualified entries.
