Doraemon 2021 movie reveals new title, poster, and trailer
Good news Doraemon fans!
The staff of the Doraemon anime series has just revealed the title, poster, and trailer for the upcoming Doraemon 2021 film.
The new movie, titled Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 (Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Ritoru Sutā Wōzu 2021), is a modern reboot of the 1985 film Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars.
Directed by Shin Yamaguchi and written by Dai Sato, the feature-length Doraemon film tells the story of Doraemon and the gang meeting a humanoid alien that escaped his home planet.
Here’s the quick synopsis:
One day during summer vacation, a palm-sized alien named Papi appears from a small rocket that Nobita picks up. He is the president of Pirika, a small planet in outer space, and has come to Earth to escape the rebels. Doraemon and his friends are puzzled by Papi's small size, but as they play together using the secret tool "Small Light", they gradually become friends. However, a whale-shaped space battleship comes to earth and attacks Doraemon, Nobita and the others in order to capture Papi. Feeling responsible for getting everyone involved, Papi tries to stand up to the rebels. Doraemon and his friends leave for the planet Pirica to protect their dear friend and his home.
The movie features the voices of Wasabi Mizuta (Doraemon), Megumi Ōhara (Nobita Nobi), Yumi Kakazu (Shizuka Minamoto), Tomokazu Seki (Suneo Honekawa), and Subaru Kimura (Takeshi 'Giant' Goda).
Internationally acclaimed CG production company Shirogumi, which has been also involved in the STAND BY ME Doraemon 3DCG series, is in charge of production. The movie’s official theme song, titled Universe, is courtesy of Japanese rock band Official HIGE DANdism.
Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 arrives first on Japanese theaters first on March 5, 2021. No word yet on the international release dates.
