'Wherever I go, he goes.' The Mandalorian season 2 trailer is here

Fans of The Mandalorian were given a treat tonight as Disney dropped the trailer for Season 2, giving us a glimpse of returning characters Din Djarin, a.k.a. Mando, and The Child, who everyone that's seen the show has named – unofficially – as "Baby Yoda."

The trailer opens with the Razor Crest flying in orbit above a planet, but things quickly escalate as it looks like there's some damage to one of the engines with the open rear cargo door flimsily bouncing off of its hydraulics.

We hear the voice of the Mandalorian Armorer from Season 1 implying that Djarin bring Baby Yoda to "an order of sorcerers called 'Jedi.'" It's at this point we see a shadowy figure who looks a lot like WWE pro-wrestler Sasha Banks (real name Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado). Is she one of the so-called Jedi?

Check out the action-packed trailer:

The Mandalorian takes place approximately five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and follows the adventures of Mando, a bounty hunter, and the force-sensitive Child he has deciced to protect after The Empire placed a bounty on its cute green head.

Around the same time as the trailer's reveal, the @Disney Twitter account showed the official poster for Season 2:

This brand new season features returning cast Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian), Gina Carano (Cara Dune), Carl Weathers (Greef Karga) and Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon).

Reported guest stars for Season 2 include Banks, Michael Biehn, and Rosario Dawson who is heavily rumored to make an appearance as the hugely-popular Ahsoka Tano.

Slated to direct various episodes for the new season are Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed, and Robert Rodriguez.

Disney Plus will begin streaming Season 2 of The Mandalorian on October 30.
