‘Demon Slayer’ game slated for October release
After its sheer popularity among anime fans and casual viewers, and a box office hit with its follow-up film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is finally coming to the video game world.
That’s right, fans will be able to play as siblings Tanjiro and Nezuko along with their beloved friends, for the upcoming new game, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba-The Hinokami Chronicles.
The game is slated for an October release, specifically on the 14th for Japan and the rest of the Asian region, and the 15th for the western market. It will be available in multiple platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC.
Published by SEGA and developed by CyberConnect2, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba-The Hinokami Chronicles, is a third-person action fighting game. In Solo Play Mode, the player can relive the events found in the first season of the anime adaptation up to the Mugen Train Arc film. During Versus Mode, players can play up to two characters from the series in a 2v2 match with up to two players in offline or online mode.
Multiple trailers have also been released showcasing multiple characters who are set to be included in the video game. The trailers can be seen in Gematsu’s YouTube channel. Currently, a new video has been released showing the official Adventure Mode with cutscenes from the story itself and actual gameplay footage.
In addition, the voice actors for both the Japanese dub and English localization have reported to return and voice their respective characters for the game.
