Magic: The Gathering 'Secret Lair' set features artwork by Bob Ross

We've got a real special treat for you today. Magic: The Gathering is celebrating their first anniversary of the "Secret Lair" sets with specially curated cards which will be available for a very limited time only.

The Wizards of the Coast has unveiled five awesome sets from the collection featuring unique artwork, including a set featuring landscape artwork painted by the legendary artist Bob Ross.

The "Happy Little Gathering" drop includes ten cards of basic lands by the American painter, art instructor and television host behind the long-running instructional television program The Joy of Painting. Each set includes two Plains, two Islands, two Swamps, two Mountains, and two Forests, created by the soft-spoken artist and beloved TV personality. The set of ten cards will be available in both Regular and Foil versions and are priced at $29.99 and $39.99 each.

Ross's painting show, The Joy of Painting originally aired from 1983 to 1994 on PBS in the United States and in Canada, Latin America and Europe. During the show, the artist often painted landscapes like mountains, lakes, trees, snow and log cabin scenes, inspired by his years in Alaska, where he was stationed for the majority of his Air Force career.

The late artist, who frequently dropped words of zen wisdown while he painted, subsequently became widely known via his internet presence and YouTube channel, which has propelled him to pop culture icon status. His likeness has also been referenced in television programs, films and video games such as Family Guy, The Boondocks, Deadpool 2 and Smite. He was spoofed in the YouTube series Epic Rap Battles of History in the episode "Bob Ross vs. Pablo Picasso".

Whether you actually use these Magic: The Gathering cards to add joy to your deck or frame them for display at home, these "happy little cards" will feel right at home in any Magic fan's collection.

The drop will be available for preorder at secretlair.wizards.com from Nov. 30 to Dec. 14, 2020. Sale time ends on Dec. 15, 2020 at 1:00 a.m. +08. The set's actual release date is March 15th, 2021.
