Taylor Swift releases her version of 2014 hit album '1989'

The re-recording Swifties have been waiting for has finally arrived. Taylor Swift has just announced the release of the re-recorded version of her album 1989 today, Oct. 27.

The new edition of her fifth studio album comes exactly nine years since the pop icon released the original EP under Big Machine Records in 2014.

Now released via Republic Records, the revamped version of Swift's award-winning album features not only its 16 original tracks—including hits like Blank Space, Style, and Shake It Off—but also five "From the Vault" songs, namely Slut!, Say Don't Go, Now That We Don't Talk, Suburban Legends, and Is It Over Now?

Swift announced the release on social media with a series of blue-themed photos she captioned, "✨🫶 My name is Taylor and I was born in 1989. 🫶"

She also included a handwritten note that read, "I was born in 1989, reinvented for the first time in 2014, and a part of me was reclaimed in 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so dearly. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the magic would you sprinkle on my life for so long."

"This moment is a reflection of the woods we've wandered through and all this love between us still glowing in the darkest dark. I present to you, with gratitude and wild wonder, my version of 1989. It's been waiting for you. Taylor," the pop megastar concluded.

1989 (Taylor's Version) is the Grammy winner's fourth re-recorded album following Speak Now (Taylor's Version) in July, as well as Fearless and Red that dropped consecutively in April and November of 2021.

Swift announced her plans to release 1989 (Taylor's Version) on the final stop of the U.S. leg of her Eras Tour at the SoFi Stadium on Aug. 9.

This was followed by the reveal of her "From the Vault" tracks that she carried out through a puzzle game in collaboration with Google Search, which Swifties solved in less than 24 hours since its announcement.
