Apple launches fourth-generation AirPods, USB-C AirPods Max

Apple has refreshed its earbuds line with the fourth-generation AirPods, USB-C version of the AirPods Max, and the new health features for the second-generation AirPods Pro.

The device was launched at the tech giant's "It's Glowtime" event where the iPhone 16 and Apple Watch Series 10 were launched.

The new AirPods feature a design similar to the AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro with shorter stems. Like the AirPods 3, it won't have silicone ear tips.

Powering the earbuds are an H2 chip capable of personalized spatial audio, hands-free calls so you can respond to Siri by nodding or shaking your head, and noise isolation.

The charging case now comes with USB-C and can deliver up to 30 hours of battery life.

Two versions of the AirPods will be released, with the other iteration coming with Active Noise Cancellation found on the Pro versions.

Other features such as Conversation Awareness, Transparency Mode, and Adaptive Control, seen on the AirPods Pro 2nd generation will be featured on the new earbuds.

The AirPods 4 starts at P8,490 while the ANC version starts at P11,490.

AirPods Max new colors

While it didn't launch a new generation of its over-ear headphones, Apple launched new colorways for its AirPods Max, including Midnight, Blue, Purple, Orange, and Starlight.

The headphones also now come with a USB-C port.

New health features for AirPods Pro 2

Apple is also rolling out health features for the second-generation AirPods Pro 2 to protect the users' ears.

Users will be able to do a hearing test with their iPhone and AirPods Pro 2, with the results showing up on the Health app.

Additionally, the tech giant touted that its Pro earbuds can be used as a hearing aid to aid those who are hard of hearing.
