From ‘Boy A-Bondee’ to business permit: Pinoys get witty and creative on Bondee

Have you caught the Bondee bug?

Since its official launch earlier this month, the new app—created by Singapore tech company Metadream—has been the talk of the town for its entertaining concept that lets its users live in a virtual world with their friends, resembling The Sims amped up with features of crowd favorite social media platforms.

It’s been a hot topic in the Philippines, too. Aside from creating their own avatars and chatting with their friends online, Pinoys seem to be having so much fun designing their own rooms and comparing them with their lives in the real world.

Need a good laugh? Here are some hilarious posts about the trending social app.

An unofficial local Twitter page for Bondee made netizens laugh when it shared a snap of a room similar to the setup of “King of Talk” Boy Abunda’s program Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. What made it even funnier is the caption: “Fast Talk with Boy A-Bondee.”

Many netizens were also quick to relate to another post made by the same account, which compared a Bondee room to their room in real life. “Kwarto mo sa Bondee vs kwarto mo sa tunay na buhay,” the caption read.

Model LA Aguinaldo gave Bondee users a little reminder as he came up with a relatable tweet about the new app. “If we can get our life in Bondee together, we can definitely get it together in real life.”

A netizen showed his wit when he created his own Bondee room with the intention of making it look like a sorting center for digital shopping. Since it ended up looking like a garage sale, he decided to go ahead and “sell” various items in his virtual space instead, and even make it legit with a business permit.

Another Internet user tickled the funny bone of netizens when he created Pinoy-style Bondee rooms. One of which is a carinderia dubbed “Jollikod,” showing covered ulams and softdrinks that Filipinos would usually see in their go-to eateries.

Do you already have a Bondee account? If you want to join in the fun, you may download the app via the App Store and Google Play for free. You may also hang out with us there at @PhilSTAR Life.
