Inuyasha sequel Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon gets first full trailer
After announcing last May that an Inuyasha spin-off series is in the works, Viz Media has finally revealed the first full trailer of the upcoming anime sequel, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon.
The much-awaited sequel takes place after the events of the main series and introduces a new set of protagonists. In the trailer, we finally see a closer look at Sesshomaru’s twin daughters, Towa and Setsuna; and Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter, Moroha.
Here’s the official synopsis of the spin-off series:
"In Feudal Japan, Half-Demon twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other during a forest fire. While desperately searching for her younger sister, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her into present-day Japan, where she is found and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota, and his family.
"Ten years later, the tunnel that connects the two eras has reopened, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a Demon Slayer working for Kohaku. But to Towa’s shock, Setsuna appears to have lost all memories of her older sister.
"Joined by Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the three young women travel between the two eras on an adventure to regain their missing past."
Inuyasha, also known as Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale, aired a total of 167 episodes from 2000 to 2004 and was continued with The Final Act from 2009 to 2010.
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon will premiere in October 2020.
