New poster for 'Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero' unveiled ahead of Aug. 31 PH cinema release
Heads up, Dragon Ball fans! As the newest Dragon Ball film is drawing close to premiering in Philippine cinemas this August, a new poster has been unveiled, showing old and new characters to watch out for.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is flying to local theatres on Aug. 31. Ahead of its release, the film has dropped a new poster, which shows the major characters in the story (from left to right): Goten, Trunks, Krillin, Android 18, Bulma, Pan, Piccolo, Gohan, Goku, Vegeta as well as the new characters Magenta, Carmine, Gamma 1, Gamma 2, and Dr. Hedo.
Aside from the new poster, the character one-sheet of Piccolo was also released, showing him with a fierce look and battle-ready stance.
The film marks the return of the Red Ribbon Army, a criminal organization that first appeared in the original anime. After their defeat at the hands of Son Goku, the organization makes a comeback with new ultimate "Super Hero" androids named Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, who begin to attack Piccolo and Gohan.
The film is directed by Tetsuro Kodama and the English voice cast includes Kyle Hebert, Sean Schemmel, Robert McCollum, Christopher R. Sabat, Monica Rial, and Sonny Strait.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the 21st feature film in the entire franchise and the second one for Dragon Ball Super, which is a sequel to the original manga created by Akira Toriyama. The new series follows the adventures of Goku and his friends during the ten-year timeskip after they defeated the powerful Majin Buu.
The Dragon Ball manga is one of the Japan's most well-known works, having sold 260 million copies worldwide.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is being distributed by Crunchyroll and Columbia Pictures and is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas on August 31, 2022.
