Netizens applaud Drag Den PH's 'progressive and inclusive' sign-up sheet
With the introduction of not one, but two, drag competitions in the Philippines, it's high time that we become more inclusive in the little ways - and that goes for how people choose to identify themselves online.
The Manila Luzon-hosted show Drag Den PH is one prime example, as their Google Form audition sheet is now being lauded for including the "they/them" pronoun choice, one's lived name, and their drag name.
A "lived name" is someone's chosen moniker that may or may not be their name assigned at birth. Meanwhile, the "they/them" pronouns refer to those that identify as non-binary or prefer a gender-neutral term.
The registration went the rounds on Twitter, where user @vinceliban first pointed out the details.
"Love this #DragDen audition form for being progressive & inclusive," Vince captioned. "1) it asks for ur pronouns; 2) it uses lived name rather than “preferred name” which puts more nuance & power on the lived experiences of trans & queer ppl. sharing so other orgs can replicate!"

Yes! Our Lived name is not a "preferred" nor "nickname". Being a trans woman, particularly in this country is a struggle --- Deprived to the right to change our name that match their gender, to include gender identity instead of sex in any identification documents, etc. https://t.co/JugyLm62sn
