Wear pride on your wrist: Apple launches new Pride Month Watch bands
With June just around the corner, Apple has released two new Pride-themed Watch bands and dynamic rainbow faces to go with them.
The two sport loop styles feature the iconic rainbow colors seen on the Pride flag, along with light blue, pink, white, black, and brown. The first three colors represent transgender and gender non-conforming individuals while black and brown symbolize the Black and Latinx communities. The colors also stand for individuals with HIV/AIDS.
On the white version of the band, the word "pride" is woven in a cursive style. This font is a nod to the "hello" greeting seen in the first Macintosh in 1984.
Meanwhile, the black version is a Pride Edition of the Nike Sport Loop, which comes with a Nike Bounce face.
In addition, Apple created the Pride Thread watch face, inspired by all the colors in different pride flags. Each thread will move when the user turns the digital crown, taps on the display, or raises their wrist.
Both bands come in 41mm and 45mm sizes and are available for purchase from the Apple website. The Pride Edition Sport Loop goes for P2,790 while the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop sells for P2,790.
