Weekend Watchlist: 'Space Sweepers', 'Hook' and more
And just like that, it's February already. Let's kick off the second month of the year with some high-octane sci-fi, adventure, and nostalgic film classics.
The highly-anticipated South Korean sci-fi action film Space Sweepers is dropping this weekend. Set in the year 2092, the film follows the story of four space junk collectors aboard a cosmic waste management spacecraft called Victory.
There's also the beloved 1991 Spielberg-directed Hook, a fantasy swashbuckler adventure film which starred Robin Williams as Peter Pan, Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook, Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell and a young Dante Basco (best known for voicing Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender) as leader of the Lost Boys, Rufio.
Based on the top trending shows this week, it seems like disaster flicks and teen slasher films are popular with audiences in the country.
For local productions, The House Arrest of Us, a romantic digiseries featuring a couple and their fighting families during the pandemic is also currently streaming on Netflix.
