This controversial video game lets you play as Jesus Christ
In video games, there is no limit as to who you can play as.
You can take the role of a skillful soldier in a sharp-shooting game, a hardworking farmer tasked with growing vegetables and caring for farm animals, or you can even play as an Italian plumber who must save a princess from a giant turtle monster.
But will your good conscience allow you to play as Jesus Christ?
A new video game has emerged titled I Am Jesus Christ, where you will be taking on the role of Jesus Christ and relive notable scenes and moments from the Bible in the world's first Jesus simulator.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, the game will let players control the immeasurable powers of Jesus, including telekinesis when doing carpentry work and performing miraculous acts through charging up their "Holy Spirit energy."
The game has also transformed memorable parts from the New Testament into gameplay formats. As seen in the trailer, you can turn water into wine to help enliven the guests in a scene taken from when Jesus attended the wedding in Cana.
There's even a clip where you travel to a child's bloodstream to cure him of his disease, which references the time where Jesus healed a royal official's son.
A free, shortened version of I Am Jesus Christ has been released on Steam, where the story will be set in ancient Nazareth. The full version will be available to players in the first quarter of 2023.
