WATCH: Final trailer for ‘No Time to Die,’ Daniel Craig's last 007 film
MGM has released the final trailer and release date for No Time To Die, which marks the end of Daniel Craig's fifteen-year run as British secret agent, James Bond.
Originally slated for an April 2020 release, the pandemic-delayed film is now slated for a world premiere at Royal Albert Hall in London on Sept. 28, 2021 followed by a general release on Sept. 30 in the UK and Oct. 8 in the United States.
The studio’s last trailer released on Tuesday (August 31) teases a conclusion of epic proportions for the actor's fifth and last outing as 007.
Craig first starred as James Bond in Casino Royale released in November 2006, and reprised his role in Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), and Spectre (2015), the series' highest-grossing film.
The 25th installment in the James Bond franchise is co-produced by MGM and Eon Productions, with United Artists and Universal serving as distributors in North America and internationally, respectively.
Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective, Beast of No Nation), the film takes place about five years after the capture of Spectre's archvillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Christoph Waltz), a criminal mastermind and head of the organization SPECTRE.
Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes reprise their roles from previous films, with Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and David Dencik joining the cast as new characters.
The trailer begins with footage of Craig as 007 over the past four films before cutting to his latest adventure.
In No Time to Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission, to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
