Michael Keaton is back as Beetlejuice and he's here with more of his hilariously scary antics

Warner Bros. Pictures has dropped the newest trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, treating fans of the 1988 comedy horror film with new twists while still remaining faithful to bizarre visuals that made the original a beloved classic.

The two-minute trailer kicks off with an introduction of new and returning characters before Lydia Deetz is shown summoning the mischievous ghost himself, Beetlejuice, to help her save her teenaged daughter Astrid from an unknown evil.

Given their history together, Lydia asks, "How do I know you're gonna keep your word?"

"I swear on my dead mother's soul," Beetlejuice says as he makes a sign of the cross, before his hands are lit on fire.

The pair then make it to the world of the afterlife where they get themselves into more trouble and chaos, all while Tragedy by the Bee Gees fittingly plays in the background.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set thirty-six years after the events of the original film and it follows Lydia, Delia, and Astrid—three generations of the Deetz family—as they return home to Winter River after an unexpected tragedy.

Lydia is still reeling from her experience with Beetlejuice when her life is turned upside down after Astrid discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.

With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

Apart from Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara are also making a return to play as Lydia and Delia, respectively. New cast members include Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe.

Helmed by renowned director Tim Burton, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will premiere in cinemas on Sept. 4 this year.
