Eraserheads documentary in the works—Ely Buendia
Fans of Eraserheads are sure to feel the Ligaya as a documentary about the Filipino alternative rock band is in the works, Ely Buendia revealed.
In an interview with online magazine Hiraya, the lead vocalist and principal songwriter was asked about the rumors that a Netflix special about the OPM band is coming. Ely was tight-lipped but confirmed a forthcoming documentary.
“There’s going to be a documentary on the Eheads and that’s all I can say for now," he answered.
Ely, meanwhile, revealed he wrote a new song called Flaming Lullaby that's being sold as a Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT).
"I wrote a short song called Flaming Lullaby and they’re selling it as an NFT. I won’t pretend I have a clue what NFTs are but it’s a nice change of pace for me, it’s like a whole new frontier that’s full of possibilities and you can be who you want to be," he said.
When asked if there’s a possibility of composing new songs for Eraserheads, all he could say is: “Let’s see.”
Last December 2022, Eraserheads held a historic concert reunion titled, "Ang Huling El Bimbo" at the SMDC Festival grounds, gathering a crowd of more than 75,000 attendees.
The band also held their USA-Canada Tour last May and June.
Prior to that, the hit musical Ang Huling El Bimbo returned to the theater stage last April featuring the discography of the OPM band.
