'Hamilton' announces dates, ticket prices for Manila leg ahead of April 24 sale
The time has come to rise up (and grab your wallets), Hamilton fans! GMC Productions, the host of the hit musical's premiere in the Philippines, has finally announced the show dates and ticket prices for Hamilton in Manila.
The Tony Award-winning musical is set to arrive at The Theater at Solaire in Parañaque City on September 17 and run for almost two months until Nov. 12.
According to TicketWorld's website, the two-hour-50-minute musical is scheduled at 8 p.m. every weekday except Mondays, where there are no scheduled shows. Weekends, meanwhile, have two timeslots: 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. every Saturday, and 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. every Sunday.
Tickets will go on sale to the public at 11 a.m. on April 24 only through TicketWorld. Unionbank and Citibank credit card holders are given access to the pre-sale happening on April 17 to 21.
Prices of the tickets are as follows:
- Orchestra A: P6,348
- Orchestra B: P5,819
- Balcony C: P4,761
- Balcony D: P3,703
- Balcony E: P2,645
- VIP: P8,993
The event organizers said that only fully vaccinated guests who can present their vaccination cards and government IDs will be allowed to enter the theater.
They are also urging guests to dress for the musical, meaning you should avoid wearing flip flops, shorts, tank tops, sleeveless undershirts worn without a blazer, and sportswear. Guests who will not abide by the dress code will be prohibited from entering the theater.
Doors will open 30 minutes before show time, but latecomers can still enter at their preferred time during the show.
Based on Ron Chernow's book Alexander Hamilton published in 2004, the musical blends hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and Broadway to tell the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton as a poor orphan who later became the right-hand of George Washington, helped draft the U.S. Constitution, and revolutionize the country's financial system, among many other feats.
The musical made its off-Broadway debut in February 2015 and has earned $649.9 million (P36 billion) in sales as of 2020, earning its spot in the top 10 highest-grossing musicals of all time.
